Project

The Understanding is an interview-based field research project in India, supported by a Taiwan government program.

The project focuses on real business experiences in India. It looks at how people start or run businesses, provide services, support cross-border work, and take part in the business ecosystem.

The core question is simple: when people enter or work with the Indian market, how do they understand what is really happening on the ground?

This project listens to first-hand experience and organizes practical observations that can help future Taiwanese entrepreneurs and SMEs prepare better before entering the Indian market.

The interviews mainly focus on:

Market understanding

How people understand customers, demand, competition, timing, and local conditions.

Trust and communication

How people build relationships, clarify expectations, and work with partners, clients, employees, or service providers.

Cross-cultural expectations

How different working styles, decision-making processes, and ideas of progress are understood in practice.

Interviewees may include entrepreneurs, business owners, consultants, business service providers, community or ecosystem participants, and people who help international teams or companies operate in India.

The final outputs will include bilingual reports and practical summaries. These materials will be used as a reference for Taiwanese young entrepreneurs and SMEs who may enter the Indian market in the future.
